Iceland 23: Back to Kirkjubaejarklaustur

The place we chose for our late lunch was "Litla Hof", which turned out to be a lovely little hamlet with a turf church and an very convenient convenience.  Interestingly, all the graves in the graveyard appeared to be above ground, resembling a large number of green hassocks arranged in neat rows.

Suitably refreshed we then headed back towards Kirkjubaejarklaustur, stopping in various places to take photographs.  One of these was "Foss", which unsurprisingly takes its name from a beautiful high waterfall.

Call me predictable, but I'm afraid I prefer the monochrome version of the final picture.

Given the weather we decided to retreat back to the hotel for a cold beer (and so we could dry out).  The forecast for the following day was much better, which was reassuring as we had quite a large distance to travel.  Our final destination was Hveragerdi, and the journey would take us past "that volcano"...
