Winter Sun

It was such a beautiful afternoon that we arranged to meet Isla's "special friends", Dillon and Daisy, at the Recreation Ground.  It was still frosty underfoot, and the glorious winter sunshine made it a pleasure to be outside.  The dogs clearly thought so too.

Since all three dogs are black, it may be difficult for the uninitiated to tell the difference.  Well, Isla has a black collar (first picture), Dillon has a white patch (being a Springador, second picture) and Daisy has a pink collar (third picture).

At the end of the walk, we bumped into Tilley - yet another black dog, who also (coincidentally) has a pink collar.  In order to avoid confusion, left to right we have Tilley, Daisy, Dillon and "Two Ball" Isla.

Birthday Girl

Isla, our little pup, reached the dizzying heights of one year old today.  As well as her presents from us (well, Issy primarily, who bought her a Mega Wubba among other things), she also received a mystery parcel from Burns Pet Food.  This contained a rather snazzy bandana - reflective, no less - and an edible birthday card made from rawhide.  No wonder she looks so happy.

She's a real sweetie, and we love her to bits.

More of Baby Joe

After a busy weekend meeting family and friends, Baby Joe came to visit us again last night before heading back to Bristol today.  He's absolutely lovely, and we all had the opportunity to play the doting aunt/grandparent.

Not to be left out, Isla decided that she needed to investigate the rather strange "man pup" who had appeared in the house.  She even went and fetched Joe one of her toys to play with (a bit premature given that he's only three weeks old).

The pictures of me were taken by Issy, who expressed incredulity that anyone would want a camera without a zoom on it...

Baby Joe Comes to Cambridge

Our new grandson, born on December 14th, has made his first trip from Bristol to Cambridge.  It was a beautiful winter's morning, so Isla and I joined the Boreham family for a walk around the fields between Foxton and Newton.  First, a couple of Frances and Christopher with Joe in his rather splendid papoose.

Barbara and David - the other proud grandparents.

Isla, meanwhile, was more interested in chasing and fetching sticks...

...but sometimes she got left behind as a result!

Baby Joe is with us for the rest of the weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of him soon.
