Flora meets Ted for the first time

Since it is Flora's first day in the big, wide world, I took her and Isla to play with Ted in the spring sunshine.  The garden in Toft is sufficiently large that I was able to keep the requisite 2m apart from everyone else while, at the same time, allowing the three dogs to run around to their hearts' content.

A short series which shows Ann discovering what slippery customers puppies can be...

There's nothing quite like a puppy to lift the spirits.

A pre-Christmas walk with Ted

Isla had a long (and muddy) walk around Toft with her big mate, Ted the Golden Retriever, this morning.  Despite the chilly conditions, both dogs were determined to take a dip in any water they could find.

Isla managed to get her ball stuck in a field, and struggled to get it out despite digging furiously.  When she eventually managed to extract the ball - with a little help from yours truly - it was completely caked in mud (not that this worried her in the slightest).

Much of the time it was Ted who managed to steal the ball from Isla, sneaking in to pick it up as soon as she dropped it for me to throw.  Isla never did quite work out that Ted was the culprit...

Isla, Ted and Bracken

Isla and I met up with Ted and Bracken for a walk around Coton this morning.  I've been to Coton many times (OK - always to The Plough) but never knew about the recreation ground or the walks around it.  A great place for dogs - and humans too, of course.

This is "Two Ball Isla" proving that she hasn't lost the touch.

Ted and Isla, having had their balls confiscated, decided to make their own entertainment by finding sticks.

What a handsome boy Ted is turning out to be.

Bracken, although significantly more "grown up" than the pups, thoroughly enjoyed running around the fields and rolling in something distateful.

Finally, the dogs showing that they're anyone's for a piece of cheese...

A Walk with Ted

This afternoon, Ann, Phil, Meredith and I took Isla and her big mate, Ted, on a walk around the fields in Toft.  Ted is older than Isla only by a few months, but is significantly larger.  Let's just say that, when the pair of them crash into you while playing, it's sometimes quite difficult to stay upright.

Despite having had his nuts removed, Ted still has a one-tracked mind...

Meredith and Ted.

What a pretty boy.

Ann was left to deal with Ted and the poo bag...

...while Phil got to grips with his new camera.

Isla was forgotten when a second golden retriever appeared.  Not blonde enough, presumably.
