A Grand Day Out to Toft

Today we had a Grand Day Out to Edward's Menagerie (aka Toft, not to be confused with the village in Cambridgeshire) for Issy's birthday.  Having been very impressed by their stand at Crufts (see the end of this post), I was looking forward to seeing what else they had to offer.  I'd heard that the cakes were good too...

These are from the dinosaur range.

Next some dogs, monkeys, sloths, and other animals.

I hadn't seen the birds before, and was particularly taken with the spoonbill and scarlet ibis.

Who can resist the chameleon?

An octopus, lobster and hermit crab, plus several "gourmet tins" of seafood.

Not all the animals are small.  A few have been "super-sized", including a monkey's head, highland cow and giant lobster perched on a beam.

Finally, a reminder (if any were needed) that there are only 45 shopping days until Christmas.

Needless to say, Harriet and Issy both bought lots of wool and patterns.  The whole point of the trip, after all.
